Pre-Pasted Wallpaper Explained
Pre-pasted wallpaper has a water-activated adhesive on the back, so you just wet it and apply it to the wall. Unlike peel and stick wallpaper, there’s no backing film to remove. One of its biggest advantages is the clean application – less mess and less waste during installation. Compared to traditional peel and stick wallpaper, it can slide during installation, making it easier to line up. It’s a stronger long-term product than most removable options and a great choice for those looking for a more durable wallpaper with an easier installation process.
Step-by-Step Guide

1. Making sure you have the right tools
Before installing pre-pasted wallpaper, make sure you have everything you need: a bucket of clean water, a sponge, a level, a pencil, a seam roller, a utility knife, and a ruler and measuring tape. To activate the adhesive, use a sponge, roller, brush, or spray bottle, depending on your preferred installation method.

2. Prepare the Wallpaper
After getting your walls ready, it’s time to get the wallpaper ready. Lay one panel face down on a clean surface and use a clean, damp sponge to wet the back evenly, making sure the whole surface is covered. Let the panel sit for a short time so the glue can fully work before you put it up.

3. Activating the Wallpaper Glue
To activate the pre-pasted adhesive, gently fold the panel from both ends toward the center with the pasted sides facing inward. Let the wallpaper rest for 1-2 minutes to allow the adhesive to fully activate before installation.

4. Hang the Wallpaper
Before hanging the first panel, draw a vertical guideline on the wall using a level. This will help ensure the wallpaper is installed straight. Unfold the top half of the moistened panel and position it against the wall, aligning it with the guideline. Leave about ½ inch (approximately 1 cm) of extra material at the top and bottom for trimming.
